Michigan's State Plan
The
Michigan Department of Community Health
has developed a state genetics plan called
Genetics Through the Life Cycle: Improving Health and Preventing Disease 2003-2008
.This 5-year strategic plan involved collaboration with numerous partners and stakeholders and was based on the findings of a statewide needs assessment conducted from 2000-2003 that included input from nearly 1,000 Michigan residents. The comprehensive planning process was funded by a federal grant from the Genetic Services Branch of the
Health Resource and Services Administration – Maternal and Child Health Bureau (HRSA/MCHB)
.
