2005 Michigan Genomics Summit

On May 2, 2005, the Michigan Department of Community Health convened a "Summit on Genomics and Public Health".  The purpose of the day-long event was to provide a mid-course review and updates on implementation of the state plan.  It also provided an opportunity to:

  • Reconnect with state and local partners who
    participated in development of the original plan;
  • Learn about the vision of federal public health
    agencies that provide support for genetics program
    activities within Michigan and;
  • Solicit input from new partners and stakeholders on
    potential next steps for action.
Approximately 170 attendees participated in eleven
different working groups to identify priority action steps
relating to the core goals of the plan.
